Fall 2008
We have been spending alot of time outside enjoying the last of the good golfing weather. And the kids have been extra needy of our time. Look what happened when someone left cat treats out on the counter. We call them kids because it is just like having little kids around.(we love it)
As you can see, Aja won the king of the mountain contest. I have this stand in the kitchen to keep them off the counters.- ha ha- They do love to watch all the action.
Shombay and Aja played in their igloo all summer long, batting around ice cubes. Like Wilbur and Moja, they help themselves to the ice despenser and must be locked out.
Summer is over and so is the igloo - on Aja's head to be exact - and yet they remain good friends. With the holidays just around the corner, they will have plenty of other things to enjoy.

Nine Months Old
Today, October 9, 2008, Shombay is nine months old and weights in at just over 16lbs.This is such a shock because he was only 4.5 pounds when he came to live with us on April 9. He just took off with my tape measure, so I will have to check his height later. The photo below shows him with the little baby harness he wore on his plane ride to Ohio.
Aja has grown as well, but not to that magnitude. Remember, she is slightly older.As you can see below she makes it impossible to do paperwork outside my office and they both love to shred paper fresh from the printer.
This is her favorite resting place(because of all the extra padding). The only problem with that is I have to turn up the volume on the T.V. because she purrrrs so loudly.
Growing so fast takes a lot out of a kitten!

Meet Aja and Shombay
Aja was born May 3, 2007 to Kboo and Wari and Shombay was born January 9, 2008 to Kboo and Mbau. (All of AJSavannahs) Kboo did a wonderful job raising both with a little help from Adrianne and Jason. They came to live with us (John and Rita) in early April, 2008.
We carefully selected traditional African names because of their Serval ancestry. Aja means "High Priestess of Mecca" and Shombay means "He who walks like a lion". Both of their names reflect their personalities.
Aja is our little "Diva" and Shombay is still a kitten with typical kitten clumsiness. Both are full of energy and curiosity. With new toys almost daily, they are spoiled too. Pictures just don't seem to do them justice.
